Module 1 - Starting Out for Dispensers  

Starting Out provides you with an understanding of dispensing in a dispensing doctor practice.  This module is aimed at inexperienced dispensers as a starting point in dispensing and it is considered essential for anyone who is keen to gain a sound grounding in the basics of good dispensing techniques.

Module 2 - The Drug Tariff & Endorsing

It is essential that all dispensers understand the Drug Tariff to avoid losses and unnecessary returned prescriptions.  Whilst The Drug Tariff and Endorsing is the logical next step in our training programme for inexperienced dispensers it is equally suitable for those who wish to build on their basic knowledge of this subject.

Module 3 – Dispensers Training Day

This is aimed at dispensers who have had the opportunity to acquire and apply the basic principles of dispensing in the workplace. Alternatively, this module can be used as a self-contained unit.

Module 4 – How to Protect Dispensary Profit

This module is aimed at GP.s and Practice Managers.  Do you achieve 30% gross profit from your dispensing?  Do you enjoy a nett profit of £40 per dispensing patient per year from your dispensing list?

Module 5 - Managing a Dispensary

Advanced study aimed at those wishing to begin the process of acquiring the skills necessary for dispensary management.  This training day can be equally useful to those working in an existing managerial role.

SOPs Training Day

A workshop designed to give a thorough grounding of the processes involved in writing and implementing standard operating procedures, specific to dispensing.

Everyday Drugs and How They Work

For dispensers and receptionists who are keen to gain a wider comprehension of drugs handed out to patients.  The course is run as two separate sessions, Part 1 covers Gastrointestinal disorders, asthma and the respiratory system, hypertension, angina, lipid control and mental health if time allows.  Part 2 deals with antibiotics and the endocrine system.

Controlled Drugs, the law, probity and good practice

The purpose of this course is to provide delegates with detailed information on the legislation covering controlled drugs, how it affects the work of dispensing practices, examples of good practice and set out and explain the proposed changes in the law following the Shipman Inquiry.

 

It is aimed at; experienced dispensers to ensure, and re-assure, that that they are complying with the requirements of the law, providing grounding for new dispensers on controlled drugs law, practice managers to keep them abreast of the controlled drugs law and any planned changes.  There is also the opportunity for attendees to share experiences and discuss common problems and issues.

Repeat Prescribing
