Class 1 drug alert issued for Preflucel (influzenza) vaccine updated (new batch information for Northern Ireland)

There has been an update to the Medicines and Health products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) class 1 drug alert for Preflucel (influenza) vaccine (Baxter Healthcare). Click here for full details of the alert.

The alert has been issued as a precautionary measure due to a higher than expected frequency of reports of adverse reactions following administration of the affected batches.

 

Pharmacists should not use any of the vaccines and return any remaining stock to the appropriate supplier. However, no further Preflucel vaccine of any batch should be administered at this time.
